Traveling Along Long Island’s North Shore – Gold Coast

Long Island is a unique tourism destination. It literally has thousands of attractions and points of interest. Some don’t consider it a tourism destination but that has a lot to do with people not knowing what it has to offer, and that includes people of all ages. Most visitors come from the tri-state area, but it is really a world class destination for travelers from around the globe.

For starters, it is easily accessible as there are three airports on Long Island, which consist of JFK, LGA and Islip. If one is willing to rent a vehicle throughout their visit, they should be able to explore the majority of the attractions and points of interest within a week or so, and with that they will see how diverse and rich in history Long Island truly is.

For those interested in exploring the Island’s Gold Coast, it is suggested that they consider the Inn at Great Neck throughout their stay. From Great Neck (the first town on the Gold Coast)  they may begin their exploration from west to east. For those that may be interested in exploring the historic mansions of the Gold Coast, it is first suggested to find out their days of operation and actually see which mansions are open to the public as some are private homes or facilities not meant for the general public’s viewing.

The Inn at Great Neck is a proud member of the Long Island Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (LICVB). It is suggested that one request a complimentary copy of their Long Island Travel Guide prior to planning their overall trip. The Inn At Great Neck’s ad can be found on page 15, and  if one utilizes the corporate promotion code LINY on-line, there may be an opportunity for significant savings.

The Hotel is also a proud member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and a member/partner of Stash Hotel Rewards. It is our hopes that when you come to visit Long Island you will consider being our guest and allowing us to be your host.
