Long Island’s Gold Coast Attractions and More

The Inn at Great Neck is located on the historic Gold Coast of Long Island. In F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel, The Great Gatsby, “West Egg” refers to Great Neck. Our convenient location offers guests a great starting point to discover the cultural, historic and natural attractions of Long Island’s North Shore, as well as our dining and nightlife. From the magnificent gardens of Old Westbury, to a historic walking tour of Great Neck village, there is plenty to do and see nearby. Be sure to visit the local museums, arboretums, mansions, gardens, beaches, hiking trails, shopping villages, state parks, theaters, restaurants, golf courses, bike paths, fishing piers, farmer’s markets and more.

Long Island consists of four regions; the North Shore; the South Shore; the North Fork; and the South Fork. Long Island is located off the southern tip of New York and stretches 120 miles into the Atlantic Ocean. It is approximately 1,200 square miles in size. The Island consists of four counties, which are Nassau County, Suffolk County, Queens County and Kings County (Brooklyn). Both Queens and Brooklyn are part of the five boroughs of New York City, which are situated on the far western part of the Island.

Although the summer season is a great time to visit Long Island, each season has something special to offer guests seeking a vacation destination. Take advantage of the Inn at Great Neck as your host hotel as you discover Long Island.
